We offer fun, inclusive cricket for boys and girls aged 5–14, from first-time players through to junior team cricket, all set in one of the most picturesque grounds in the area.

Our Friday evening sessions are the heart of the club, combining cricket, community and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

Junior Cricket (U9–U14)

For children aged 9 and above, we offer structured coaching and the opportunity to play matches as part of our junior teams.

Players will:
• Train weekly on Friday evenings
• Develop batting, bowling and fielding skills
• Take part in league matches
• Be supported by ECB qualified coaches

We welcome players of all abilities, whether they are new to the game or looking to develop further.

All sessions are mixed and inclusive.

When & Where

Junior training takes place on:
• Fridays from 18:00
• The Brocus, Newdigate, RH5 5AE
• Under 8s – 11s: 18:00 – 19:00
• Under 12s - 15s: 19:00 - 20:30

The season runs from late April (weather permitting) through to July/August.

More Than Just Cricket

Friday evenings at Newdigate are about more than just cricket.

Parents are encouraged to stay, with the bar open and often a BBQ, creating a relaxed and social environment for families while the children train.

It’s a great way to meet other families and be part of the club.

Get Involved

New players are always welcome.

If your child would like to give cricket a try, simply come along to a session or speak to one of the coaches (usually wearing ECB clothing) when you arrive.

No experience is needed—just turn up and get involved.

For these age groups, membership is required after your first session and includes insurance.

We operate a kit exchange scheme as we all know how fast our junior cricketers grow!

At Newdigate we are very fortunate to have a lot of committed coaches for a village club, most qualified up to ECB level 2, but all are volunteers giving up their time to inspire the next generation and pass on their love of the game. We'd welcome more people to join the coaching team and will organise the training you need. Do speak with a coach to get involved. It is an incredibly rewarding experience.
