The Ninjas welcomed Horley to Newdigate after the weather allowed us to play on a Tuesday for the first time in 3 weeks.

True to form, the Skipper lost the toss again, I haven’t won one yet this season, and Horley elected to bat.

Newdigate have been working hard on improvements in the field this season and that showed tonight with some tight fielding. Charlie took a wicket early in the third over and followed up with another, taking out their highest running batter (Kerstie on 25). Anna bowled 2 further wickets and Sarah Oram took a fabulous catch to give Anna 3 in total.

Horley ended the innings on 84.

Charlie and Karen started the Ninjas chase and held firm, Charlie taking the lions share of the runs as always, finding the full boundary 4 times with one a 6. Horley’s Captain, Martha was delighted when she finally bowled her out just before she retired, she totaled 35 runs. Amelia Brien came in and added 12 to her run total this season. Karen supported the big hitters with the running and managed her highest run total yet of 16 not out.
