Austin Hunter's Maiden 50 tops the batting leaderboard

It was an exciting week for Newdigate Cricket Club, with strong individual performances and several impressive results across senior and junior teams.


Senior Men’s Cricket

The 1st XI battled against a strong Ashtead 3rd XI but fell short, with Stephen Kehl top-scoring on 33 and Syed Ahmed contributing 31. Allan Cooper, George Daniels and Scott Dunkerley all took three wickets each.

The 2nd XI secured a excellent chase victory over Dorking 3rd XI, led by David Callcut (44), Andrew Posner (37) and Daniel Harrington (37), with Thomas Gross and Aiden Jones taking two wickets apiece.

The Sunday XI were bowled out for 120 against Loxwood, with Shyju Nath Parassini top-scoring on 31. The Sunday Development XI had a much better day, chasing down 198 to beat Horley, with Austin Hunter smashing 55 and Jack Bowley retiring not out on 50.

Women’s Cricket
No senior women’s fixture this week.

Junior Cricket

The Under 11s produced a dominant performance, bowling Banstead out for just 46 and chasing the target comfortably. George Butt took 2/4 and Henry Penfold 2/10, with strong fielding throughout.
The Under 10 Sixers recorded a comfortable victory over Epsom, with George Butt (26) and Barney Browning (27) leading the batting charge, while Finn Dixon and Kellan Gregory took two wickets each.
The Under 9s went down in a very close match against Dorking, with Harry Kennerley (22) and George Edwards (22) shining with the bat.
The Under 12s suffered a narrow defeat to Woodmansterne despite Georgina Hunter’s 17.
