A maiden century from Hussain Abdul-Munaff and a stunning all-round display from Jagadeesh Subbiah headlined a mixed week for Newdigate Cricket Club, with four wins from ten matches including a nerve-shredding one-run victory for the Sunday 2nd XI.

Senior Men's Cricket
The 1st XI's five-match winning run came to an end away at Worcester Park, who posted 171 all out despite tidy bowling from Joseph Subbiah (2/18 from 9 overs) and Allan Cooper (1/39). Newdigate's reply never got going, with Elliot Spiers (29 off 28 balls) and Thomas Clark (24) the only real resistance as A Khan's 4-wicket haul bowled them out for 121, a 50-run defeat.

The 2nd XI's trip to Reigate Priory didn't go ahead, with Newdigate conceding the fixture.

Sunday Cricket
The Sunday XI were beaten by Forest Green, who posted 271 all out built around Bilal Khawaja's rapid 92. Harvey Carrington did the damage with the ball, taking 4/49. In reply, Hussain Abdul-Munaff produced the innings of the week — and the season — with a magnificent 101 not out off just 90 balls, striking 12 fours and 4 sixes, but a 49-run defeat followed as the rest of the order couldn't quite go with him.

The Sunday 2nd XI edged an absolute nail-biter against Abinger, winning by just 1 run. Jagadeesh Subbiah was the star of the show, top-scoring with 73 off 85 balls to help Newdigate to 156 all out, then coming back with the ball to take a superb 4/13 from 7 overs as Abinger fell agonisingly short on 155.

Junior Cricket
The Under 10 Sixers were the pick of the junior sides, beating Ashtead by 24 runs. George Butt (30) and B Browning (30 not out) laid the platform for 117, before F Stevensen's excellent 2/5 helped bowl Ashtead out for 93.

The Under 12s had contrasting fortunes across two matches. They beat Merstham comfortably by 7 wickets, chasing 124 with ease as Ishaan Chandra Sekaran (33 retired not out) and Poppy Thorneloe (19 not out) guided them home. Two days later they came unstuck against Banstead, despite Kellan Gregory's brilliant 4/10 restricting the visitors to 120 — Newdigate were bowled out for 96 in reply, going down by 24 runs.
