Reigate won the toss and elected to Bat.
The opening bats held firm and Newdigate struggled to break the pairing, topping out at 59 before a great catch by Anna Lewis snatched retirement away from Rosie who finished her innings on 37 runs.
Jacqui Goldsmid found her feet and then took 3 further wickets, 2 clean bowls and an LBW putting her top in the league with 7 wickets in total. A fantastic catch by Vicky Clack off of Anna Lewis bowling got the biggest cheer, it's brilliant to see the older team members improving in the field. There were other good fielding performances from Pippa Bennet, Tanya Clack and Sharon Millar. However, Reigate continued to find the boundary and finished their innings with 168.
With some of the best bowlers we face in the leagues, we knew we had a hard task to get close to the target, Skipper Karen Fordree went out for a duck in the first innings, making way for Jacqui to pair with Anna Lewis. Jacqui went on to put in a strong performance, retiring on 40 runs. Other notable performances were from Amelia Brien and Del Posner, bowled out on 16 runs. Jacqui went back in and finished her innings just 3 short of a half century.
