Week 2 of the Surrey Championship matches

Here's your summary of the highs from week 2 of the Surrey Championship fixtures

It was an exciting week for Newdigate Cricket Club, with fantastic individual performances and thrilling matches across all levels!

Senior Men’s Cricket

1st XI battled hard against Capel, with Kian Bradley contributing 46 and David Farrington adding 36.
2nd XI saw Chriscent Halvitigala Don shine with 71* and Andrew Posner with 39, showing great resilience in a strong contest.
Sunday XI earned a faster-scoring draw against Ottershaw, with Mohammad Ali and Monjur Elahi sharing the wickets and keeping the game competitive.

Women’s Cricket
Women’s 1st XI delivered a commanding win over Horsley & Send. Jude Turner starred with 83* while Millie Guthrie grabbed 33 and took key wickets, securing a huge 144-run victory.

Junior Cricket
Under 14 Knights gave a spirited performance with contributions from Issac Grant (18) and Mark Moody-Stuart (12).
Under 13s faced tough opposition but showed determination in the field and with the bat.
Under 11s were narrowly beaten by Croydon, with Barney Browning top-scoring with 33 and George Butt adding 28 in a thrilling chase.
Under 10s enjoyed mixed fortunes: the Yorkers lost to Kenley, but the Sixers bounced back with a comfortable 8-wicket win over Banstead, with Harris Bladen (29*) and George Butt (3 wickets) starring.
Under 9s ran out winners against Sutton, chasing 97 to finish at 106-3, with Jack Lamacraft (10) and Harry Daniels (12) contributing to a solid team effort.
